What is the senior dedication?

Each of you are given 30 seconds to record a thank you speech to your parents or whoever you want to address.    Paul will then put together all seniors into one loop and it is played from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM as your parents and guests wait for graduation to start.

It could go like:

Hi mom and dad!  This is...I want to thank you for your support over the last four years with so many things.  For instance, during my junior year, you supported me by helping me visit colleges while I was thinking about it where I wanted to apply (or you could use other examples).

Grad Nite & Senior Breakfast

Thursday June 7th is Grad Nite.  We meet at iPoly by 7:30PM (subject to change).  With the cost of going and buses, I expect the cost to be no more than $49.  I am waiting on candy money to give you the best possible price.  I would like to collect the $ by Wednesday 4:30 PM.

If you want to bring a guest to Grad Nite, please tell me by email by Tuesday 8AM.  We have 10 available guest spots for Grad Nite.   Guests can't attend senior breakfast in the morning and this can't be a reason why you don't attend senior breakfast.   Senior Breakfast is an event meant for the senior class.

Senior Breakfast is on Friday June 8th.  We have already paid for all seniors to go (we fundraised for this).  Unfortunately, guests at Grad Nite can't attend this event.   If you are not going to Grad Nite, please meet us at Kellogg West by  no later than 7:15 AM.  For more information about the site click here.

Senior Breakfast is located on the Cal Poly campus at Kellogg West.  Please attend.

ASB update

Tomorrows Pep Rally will go on as planned for 4th Block (Noon-1pm) -

Tomorrows "Parking Lot K" dance has been postponed due to poor weather (due to rain sometime tonight or tomorrow morning with evening temps in the low 60's) and because we are expecting everything to be pretty wet out there tomorrow evening - so we (ASB) have decided to postpone until NEXT Friday, June 1st.  Tickets will continue to be sold for $5 during breaks and lunch next week.

Prom

Great event!   I was happy to see everybody having a good time.   Great job class of 2012!

Action Figure

The action figure is:  Batman and Robin in the Silver Age.  Thanks for your effort his year!  Good luck on 2-hour presentations!

(1) Batman and Robin are superheroes that are human.

Superheroes:
·      281 record at the first dance
·      4300 cans
·      Interception and touchdown to win Powder Puff
·      7 solid dilatory calls and some great speeches and effective use of the rules at Model Assembly
·      Some incredible contacts and service learning in senior project
·      Our best success in science fair
·      Strong showing in other spots such as independent components and exit interviews
·      And much more

At the same time, the human-side shows when times have been challenging/difficult but like Batman and Robin after a little chaos, 2012 regroups and steps up.

(2) Batman and Robin: Devotion to the city

I think the prom best illustrated the devotion to the class of 2012 each member had when Karen announced the prom king and queen. 2012 roared in celebration for 2012!  I also saw this devotion to the class in anytime we had an event or when times were difficult and folks needed to step up for each other.

I also observed devotion to iPoly throughout the year in many events/activities/lessons.

(3) Dynamic Duo

Batman and Robin have had their ups and downs through the different versions of Robin, but their superhero expectation and devotion results in them to regroup and help.

I observed a number of temporary conflicts throughout the year for some duos in the class, but I also saw some reaching out by the duos to help each other in times of need.

(4) Batman of the Silver Age

Batman during this era worked alongside others such as superheroes, police chiefs, batgirl, robin etc, which is what this class did all year with 2013.   We worked on a number of things with them.    Batman also worked alone which this class did to pull of superheroes status.

Prom Photography Update

*Blog 26:  2-Hour Presentation Rough Draft is due Friday by 8AM.  Remember that your final is due to the host teacher by 2:30 PM, the day before your 2-Hour.

I called Clifford.  Clifford said they would offer the additional package of $15 per person deal.

$15 gets you 1 5 x 7 and 4 Wallets.    If for example, two of you take a photo together, it would cost you $15 per person or $30 total and you would get 1 5 x 7 and 4 Wallets each or 2 5 x 7s and 8 Wallets.

Going to Mt Sac?

Email to Hunzeker:

Dear Counselors and Liaisons

The High School Outreach team is busy planning an exciting and informative event that will focus on career options, academic counseling services, and transfer. Seniors' Day will take place on Saturday, May 19, 9am-2pm. Please encourage your students to sign-up online ASAP! Registration closes at midnight on Wednesday, May 16. Due to budget limitations, we have scaled down Seniors' Day from 2 days to 1 day. Because the event is on a Saturday, please encourage your students to car pool with friends. Seating is limited to 400 students and we anticipate that the event will fill up fast. Students must have their Mt. SAC student ID# in order to sign-up.

NEW this year:  Parent Conference during Seniors' Day for the first 200 parents who sign up to attend! The purpose of the parent component is to assist parents in understanding the changes that their son/daughter may face during their transition to college. A parent guest may only sign-up if their son/or daughter is registered to attend. ONE parent per student (only for the first 200 parents)/no exceptions.

Students must sign-up on-line by going to http://instruction.mtsac.edu/fa/<http://instruction.mtsac.edu/fa/>
Attached you will find a PDF of the flyer that will be delivered to your high schools this week. If you have a list serve of Connect 4 students, we encourage you to please email share the digital version with your students.
Some students may have already attended a Mt. SAC application workshop and/or completed their Mt.
