Rule of 4 Part III: 9th Annual Adopt-a-Family

As we began to organize for the 9th annual Adopt-A-Family, I wanted to thank you all for your effort so far.   Thanksgiving and Christmas are times of year for us to give back to the community to help folks who need the help in difficult economic times.

(1) Who are we helping?
  • family in La Puente
  • single mother with 3 children (14 year old girl, 12 year old boy, and 3 year old boy)
(2) How do we help?   Using the rule of 4, we all give $4 by December 7th.    You are welcome to give more and/or give whatever you can.  Talk to your parents over Thanksgiving.
(3) When we get all the money together (from 2012, 2013, iPoly faculty/staff, and maybe a few others), what do we do next?
  • Shop on December 7 & 8.
  • Wrap on December 9
  • Delivery December 10
(4) Can I go shopping with the group?  Yes, of course, see committee below and talk to them.  Can I go to deliver gifts on December 10th?  Yes!  But we are limited in how many people we can bring.

(5) Who do I talk to or give money to?
  • Senior ASB committee leaders are Karen & Jackie
  • Committee members (W: Andrea, Jazmin; N:  Elissa, Diana; S: Jessica, Alec; East:  Emanuel, Christa)
*This is not a house competition.   This is simply about helping a family in La Puente who could really use the help.   We are only keeping track of who is giving us what and how much because this is typical practice when running activities like this.  If your parents or a business you know wants to donate and wants the TAX ID # for their taxes, see Purther.

(6) Committee Members
  • Committee members:  What do we do?  Collect $4 from each senior in your house & encourage each junior to give $4 and collect their $.  Document who gives you what in both grade levels.
  • Go shopping with the team if you can
  • And help wrap
