Community College update

Citrus is still open.  Mt. Sac announced it would be taking no high school students at all next year.

You may also try community courses at Mt. Sac.  It is not for college credit, but can be used an independent component.

Mt. SAC & Citrus College & your senior project

If you plan to take a college course as part of your senior project, it counts toward your first or second independent component.

Remember that it must be helpful your senior project to count.  And Mt. Sac and Citrus start in August, so this is a decision you must make before school starting.  If you want my feedback on your decision or choices, email me.

Senior Project Accountability Contract

The house teacher must approve the following three points during the school year, but as you consider what you may do, here is something to think about:

(1) Service Learning is working with an expert in the field of your topic for 50 hours
(2) Project topics call for participation regularly in classes and activities that provide structure and depth.  For example,   depending on your topic, you may be asked to enroll in explorer programs (firefighting, law enforcement), R.O.P. (for certification programs such as photography, gaming and cooking), participate team sports and competitions (for athletics), and take college and community classes (for the arts and academics projects).
(3) Performance or exhibition at iFest (for all arts-related topics)

*The purpose of all work in the senior project is to help you answer your essential question.

The accountability contract is due the first day of school.  Please print it, sign it and have your parents sign it.
