The following need to complete or turn in guest passes.
Please turn in by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. If it is not turned in refunds cannot be given and guests are not allowed to come. Turn in passes to Phoebe or Norma.

What should you present on?  Present the foundation of your essential question.  What is the foundation?  It is the knowledge you need to know to understand your EQ and your answers.  For example:
What is most important in running a profitable persian cookie factory?  This student could present on types of businesses (sole proprietorship, partnership, public corporation etc).
What is the most positive effect young women can gain from participating in Miss America pageants? This student could present on the history of the Miss America pageant.
What is the best way for a boxer to be remembered by future generations of boxers?  This student could present on an important boxing match or a specific boxer who has had a major impact.
What is the most effective way to treat an HIV+ patient in drug rehab?  This student could present on what HIV is.

The independent component is an opportunity for you top select a direction and create your own component.  Each component must demonstrate 30 hours of work.  On the due dates, please turn in the following

·     Log of hours on a calendar (use google docs)
·     Evidence of the 30 hours of work (e.g. transcript, essays, tests, art work, photographs)
·     LIA

Literal
(a) Statement saying: “I, student name, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.” 
(b) Explanation of what you completed.

Interpretive
Defend your work and explain how the significant parts of your component and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.

Applied
How did it help you answer your EQ?  Be specific and use examples.

Grading Criteria
·     Log (calendar or list)
·     Evidence of 30 hours of work

Sunset Barbecue

63 seniors attended.  The event went well.  Thanks to all the folks who helped organize it!  We will try it again closer to the end of the year.
